Disposing of Large Waste Items:

Rules for large sized items- Notify the center in advance of the item you plan to dispose of and purchase stamps to the relevant value from a local convenience store. You will be given a specific day and place to place the item for disposal. If you are moving or planning to move back to your country, please notify the center well in advance of your leaving date. You can also apply online or by phone. Procedures differ according to the area you reside in. In case you live in the area which is not shown on the website, please refer to your local administration (city/ward office) website and follow their instructions.

The Kashiwa Branch of the Center for Global Education (GlobE Kashiwa), with the support of members of the Kashiwa Campus community and local volunteer groups, provides household items free of charge to help international students and researchers begin their new lives in Japan.

GlobE Kashiwa holds a free Recycle Bazaar twice a year (Spring and Autumn), providing household items to international students and researchers starting a new life in Japan.

Bazaar Date: Monday, October 5, 2026
Registration Period: Thursday, September 24 ¨C Friday, October 2, 2026 (until 5:00 PM)

Please check the posters below and register during the application period.

• Bicycles
• Small household appliances (microwaves, rice cookers, toasters, etc. in good working condition)
• Kitchenware and tableware
• Storage organizers
• Unused or gently used household items

Donated items will be stored until the bazaar and then distributed to international students and researchers. Please help us by bringing items that are clean and ready for the next user.

• Kitchenware and tableware: washed and free from food residue or grease
• Electrical appliances: fully functional and wiped clean
• Fabric items (bedding, cushions, curtains, etc.): freshly laundered and free from stains or strong odors

We would appreciate it if you could donate items that you yourself would be happy to receive and use.
Please note that, for hygiene reasons, we may not be able to accept items that are unclean, heavily stained, damaged, or have strong odors.

For large furniture or household appliances such as washing machines, please refer to the "Large Household Appliances and Furniture" section below.

Items purchased with University funds cannot be donated for personal use.
